We are currently looking for a Shift Electrician to work within a busy hospital environment in the Dartford area
The Shift Electrician will be required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance checks to anything from changing light fittings to moving sockets, to completing fire alarm / emergency light testing and remedial work to full electrical shut downs across the hospital.
Duties include -
To service and maintain building services plant and equipment in accordance with relevant standards, frequencies and safe working practices. To respond to reactive breakdowns, carry out fault finding and any necessary repairs.
Carry out scheduled planned preventative maintenance tasks
To have a ‘can do’ approach to your work ethos.
Be able to work within a small maintenance team, consisting of a mechanical shift engineer and a semi skilled shift engineer (plus a full day team of engineering and support staff)
To identify any replacement parts required, obtain costs and order such parts through the company Buyer.
Provide support to the wider estate management team
Skills, Knowledge and Competencies required
Good all round technical ability and a working knowledge of a wide variety of electrical systems required, knowledge of building maintenance preferred, but not essential
Must be fully qualified in Electrical Installation, Level 3 and hold 18th edition, with experience of commercial buildings
JIB carded benificial, but not essential
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
The ability to multi-task and be methodical.
A pro-active approach to problem solving.
Overtime available (shift covers and shut down work, as well as additional remedial works)
Plenty of overtime available
