Job Description

An exciting, new opportunity has arisen with a forward-thinking construction business & requisitions group, who are looking for a competent and dynamic Financial Director based near Rotherham, South Yorkshire. There are boundless opportunities and the company is at the start of huge and solid growth. Salary negotiable.

About the role

We need someone capable and experienced, someone who’s worked in construction ideally would be better suited in terms of experience, who knows contracts current market trends construction and the requisitions market, with a proven track record in a similar role, however we're looking for someone with both construction and group experience, ideally who can diversify.  Responsible for managing all accounting operations, grow a finance team, working closely with the Senior Management Team 

In particular this role involves:

  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts.
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
  • Analysing monthly variances and drive actions to meet financial targets.
  • Manage and comply with Regulatory reporting and tax matters.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and comply with group policies.
  • Have a strong oversight over the financial control of major projects.
  • Set-up annual Audit planning according to Group instructions, preparation of Statutory Accounts and review of the tax pack.
  • Ensure Liaison with the auditors on all tax and statutory accounts matters.
  • Review overhead cost, identify risk and opportunities on projects, manage business plans, feasibility studies, investment proposals.

  • Cash flow, accounts systems and pay role

We need someone with robust accounting knowledge; strong analytical skills; autonomous, pro-active, hands-on, dynamic, methodical and organised; focus on results and ability to get things done; good team spirit, adaptability and energy; good communicator and cooperation.
