Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Vehicle Marshal to join our clients team based in Leiston, Suffolk. Please read the full job description before applying or calling.

Requirements:

* You will be required to have a DBS check done.
* Up to date CV with a minimum of 5 years work history, no gaps.
* 2x References
* Proof of Addresses
* Blue CPCS Card for Plant & Vehicle Marshal OR NPORS for Plant & Vehicle Marshal
* PPE
Responsibilities:

* Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that all items are handled safely and efficiently.
* Check that mirrors, CCTV, flashing beacons and reversing sounders are in place (where fitted), turned on and fully operational prior to reversing operations being undertaken. All defects must be immediately reported to their Supervisor who will agree on the Safe System of Work or rejection of the load.
* Prevent people from putting themselves at risk whilst plant or vehicles are being maneuvered or reversed on site.
* Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, reporting any mechanical issues as necessary.
* Communicate effectively with team members to address any logistical challenges that may arise during operations.
* Assist plant operators and vehicle drivers to safely manoeuvre and reverse to prevent injury to people, damage to property or materials, and to stop operations if necessary.
* Brief the vehicle driver on the relevant controls and methods of communication * Driver Site Rules, the Driver Flash Card for Highways Lane Closures or the PVPMP for the project.

Experience:

* A strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety practices is essential.
* Mechanical knowledge is advantageous for troubleshooting vehicle issues on-site.
* Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with team members and ensure efficient operations.
