The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration and co-ordination of the processes and statutory systems for the delivery of Council’s duties, in relation to its role as a Supervisory Body.

This will include working with the MCA / DoLS leads to ensure systems and processes are updated in accordance with key legislative changes, appointing relevant professionals to complete required assessments, providing an efficient and responsive first line service to the Council’s Managing Authorities, other Supervisory Bodies, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates, Persons Representatives and service users and/or their representatives, and providing a robust, first level scrutiny of all incoming assessments, paperwork and applications relating to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

The post requires an individual who can demonstrate they have excellent interpersonal, IT and organisational skills, which will support the Council to effectively discharge its duties as the Signatory body. This will include updating and maintaining IT systems, managing competing demands internal and external to the team, and maintaining systems essential for the production of performance management information.

Due to the continual demands of the role and the need to ensure work is progressed in accordance with statutory timelines, the post holder will need to demonstrate their ability to work off their own initiative to ensure they can meet the many time specific demands that will be placed on their time.

You will need to have demonstrable experience of undertaking high pressured admin support within a Statutory setting. The job offers the successful candidate the opportunity to engage in service developments that will assist in further enhancements to the local policies and procedures covering MCA / DoLS.
