Purpose of the Job

To support the Employer for the Canary Wharf Project to prepare program/plans for the execution of the project to completion.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Provide support to initiatives and processes to achieve the required standards of planning and scheduling collaboration for the Canary Wharf Station project.
  • Coordinate with various contractors, third party interfaces and stakeholders for inputs and develop a comprehensive program that captures all elements of work to achieve completion of the project.
  • Coordinate with contractors for submissions of P6 Level 1-4 program. Program to be updated every month.
  • Review P6 program to ensure that it is inline with project goals.
  • Review 3WLA received from contractors and provide weekly reports.
  • Update level 2 MOHS program every month.
  • Attend progress meeting with contractors to monitor progress based on the 3WLA and program.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with the Sector Planners so that their respective component parts of the MOHS properly reflect in the program to be developed.
  • Reflect the linkages and dependencies between the component parts of the MOHS so that they are accurately reflected in the plan.
  • Oversee programme for technical closeout (detail programme to be by Package Managers).
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to Target Zero principles.

Main challenges of the job

  • Supporting the Employer in relation to understanding and ensuring the coordination of all works to fulfil all defined requirements and obtaining approvals.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with all the contractors’ key stakeholders, Project Team, RFL, MTR.
  • Works closely with key individuals from all project teams and Contractors

 

 

Person Specification

 

  • Extensive Experience in managing design for Railway or large industrial projects
  • Knowledge of industry work processes for design services and closeout of design.
  • Knowledge and understanding of working arrangements with stakeholders.
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering discipline.
  • Ability to effectively work autonomously within a matrix organization and drive issues through to quick closure.
  • Knowledge of functional work processes and interface knowledge, especially design, field engineering.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements for Railway construction projects including CDM regulations.
