MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • To manage and control the processing and packing of all products to customer specifications at optimum cost/efficiency.
  • To ensure compliance with product safety, legality, traceability and quality requirements.
  • To ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • To ensure compliance with hygiene and housekeeping requirements.

KEY TASKS:

  • To produce all products to customer specification, as detailed on the daily production plan.
  • To provide labour content, film waste and raw material waste for product costings.
  • To identify cost savings through continuous improvement.
  • To control all direct costs to Bill of Materials - labour, raw material waste and packaging waste.
  • To ensure that all areas of hygiene, housekeeping, food safety, traceability, allergen management, legality and quality are met at all times.
  • To ensure that all tasks are carried out safely and in a safe working environment.
  • To recruit and manage the operatives employed in completing customer requirements and any other duties required of them.
  • To ensure that all members of staff are adequately trained and competent to carry out any duties required of them.
  • Any other duties requested by Production Manager.
  • Input costing data
  • RAMS (upon completion of training)
  • Check manning level
  • Arrange cover for weekends and 24hour production
  • Update planning with performance at 1400
  • Check holiday cover
  • Support trails and pre-trial meetings
  • Close and update actions and action log
  • Drive improvement projects
  • Ensure escalation of issues in accordance with escalation process
  • Be aware of output targets and constantly monitor line operation to ensure adherence to plan.
  • Allocate staff to appropriate areas and communicate expectations throughout the shift.
  • Staff induction
  • Check version 0.0 of plan
  • Near miss reporting
  • Complete accident investigations
  • Report H&S issues
  • Shift handover meeting

To immediately escalate any occasions of misconduct and to keep a record of minor misdemeanours for escalation on the third occasion.
