We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Senior Consultant to join our team. In this role you’ll be responsible for: 

 

  • Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of hydrology and hydraulics is essential.  Experience of flood estimation methods, undertaking environmental impact assessments, drainage and SUDs design, river engineering and water resource assessment is useful.
  • Must have the ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members, contractors and clients. Must be able to produce well-structured reports in clear English. 
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the UK and European legislation governing the technical discipline.
  • Experience of GIS (e.g. ArcGIS) and hydraulic hydrology modelling software (e.g. Flood Modeller TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, Infoworks ICM, HYSIM, Microdrainage) is essential.
  • Work within agreed deliverables, key milestones, project methodology, quality assurance and control strategy.
  • Undertake project delivery tasks as defined by the Project Manager / Team Leader, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches and reports etc., as well as site investigations. 
  • Recommend / implement improvements to technical policy, processes and design solutions where applicable, and share via the knowledge management channels as appropriate

 

To be successful in this role you'll possess:

  • First degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or similar subject with significant hydrology or hydraulics content
  • MScMEng andor PhD with a focussed on either hydrology, hydraulic, water resources or other applied environmental science subject
  • Working towards membership of a professional body such as CIWEM, ICE or IEMA
  • Demonstrate the clients values of being a truly committed business partner and always easy to do business with. 
  • Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions
  • Take responsibility for personal development and enable and support the learning of others
  • Effective negotiation and persuading skills, able to manage and diffuse challenging situations
  • Project a professional image to clients and colleagues
  • Able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors.
