POSITION OVERVIEW   

Effectively preparing and submitting monthly applications, chasing payments and certification.

Issuing cash flow forecasts & cost reports, and financial/commercial control of sub-contractors for the Commercial Landscape Department.

Pricing contract variations and supporting Estimators by assisting in the pricing of new Tenders, as time allows.

  • Must have good communication skills and knowledge of the landscaping industry in order to liaise effectively with clients, sub-contractors and contracts managers.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Working closely with the Contract Managers to prepare and submit accurate monthly applications, regular cash flow forecasts and cost reports, to be integrated into the overall divisional forward sales forecast.
  • To follow up certification of applications, chasing of payments and agreeing successful and timely settlement of final accounts.
  • Liaise with the accounts department regarding both inward and outward payments and advise on account accruals at the month end accounting periods
  • Assist the Director in monitoring and updating the Divisional overall forward sales forecast
  • To assist the Contract Managers in contract budgeting and cost control
  • To work closely with the Director and Contracts Managers in controlling all commercial and financial issues within specific sub-contract packages
  • To financially control sub-contractor monthly applications, agreeing/certifying the amounts to be paid and agreeing their final accounts within the projected contract costs
  • To work closely with the Buyer, Estimator & accounts dept in approving and registering of new sub-contractors and agreeing our T & C’s.
  • To be familiar with the various forms of contract and relevant contract conditions the division has signed up to and assisting the Director and Contracts Managers in their interpretation.
  • To provide advice on contractual claims and advise on legal matters including risks and disputes and developing appropriate responses.
  • To keep the Director and Contracts Managers informed of any significant commercial & cost issues that affect operations as they arise.
  • Attend regular progress meetings on site and competently represent the company.
  • To continually develop strong, long term relationships with clients & sub-contractors
  • Understand and work to agreed company procedures & systems
  • Attend weekly operational meetings ensuring you have an awareness of the division’s sales, profit targets and KPI’s.
  • To deliver the divisional sales & GP requirements, maintaining forward sales to annual forecast/budget
