The Rail Staff Awards are back for their 18th edition this November as the UK rail community comes together in an annual celebration of all those who ensure the smooth operation of our network. From station staff and rail engineers, to recruitment and talent acquisition teams, the forward-thinking innovators, and those who invest in our health & wellbeing, we all rely upon the dedication and hard work of the thousands of individuals who dedicate their lives to the industry.
This October, Coyle Personnel are proud to once again announce the nominations of several of our exceptional employees at the prestigious Rail Staff Awards. We want to congratulate these individuals for their nominations and celebrate their consistent efforts that have contributed to the success of Coyle Rail over the past 12 months.
The Rail Manager of the Year award recognises those who exhibit outstanding leadership skills and go the extra mile for their team. It is a celebration of exceptional leadership and professionalism. Coyle Rail Manager, Nick Markwell, treats every team member with respect, values their contributions and listens to their ideas and concerns, making him a truly deserving nominee for this award. His leadership approach creates a positive and inclusive work environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
Nick will always go out of his way to ensure all staff are comfortable at work, ensuring everyone has the resources they need to succeed. He is always willing to help, whether by offering guidance or just being available for a conversation. As a true professional, Nick handles challenges well and sets a strong example for his team, inspiring others to maintain high standards. He genuinely cares about his team’s well-being, taking the time to know each person individually and supporting them both professionally and personally.
Whether celebrating successes or providing support during tough times, Nick is always there for his team. He’s also willing to help outside of work when needed, showing his commitment to his staff’s overall well-being. Coyle Rail are truly grateful to have Nick Markwell as a member of our team and we are firm believers that he encompasses everything that the Rail Manager of the Year award represents.
The Coyle Rail Blue Collar North Team has once again been nominated for the Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Person or Team award, emphasising the team's significant impact on the UK rail industry. The team, led by the excellent Phil Cambridge, excels in responding to inquiries from individuals looking to become sponsored as rail operatives.
Phil Cambridge's 30 years of rail experience allows him to provide efficient solutions to meet the needs of clients and fully understand their individual needs. He has extensive experience in business development and the agency's continued commerical stability can be put down to his expertise in client liaison.
The entire team prides themselves on their commitment to clear communication, efficient resource allocation, and a primary focus on health and safety. Not only do they prioritise safety, but they also care about the welfare of their team and individual's well-being, knowing that a happy working environment makes for a safe and productive team. Phil, Jaimie, Rachel, and Becky work tirelessly to ensure their workers have regular, quality work and are available at all hours to address any questions or concerns.
The Lifetime Achievement award recognises a single individual who has made significant and lasting contributions to the rail industry over the past 20 years. Frank is an integral part of the Coyle Rail family who can be found involved in every part of the company. He is a consummate professional who works tirelessly to exceed expectations daily.
Frank has spent years growing, nurturing and developing his division whilst also supporting others in and around the company. He is a well-known figure within the team and is well-liked by many due to his friendly and approachable nature. Frank is always welcoming to new team members and is happy to share his vast knowledge that he has gained over many years in the industry. Whether it be for a single shift in a remote area on a Saturday night or a much larger longer-term project, his passion to meet his clients’ needs in any situation speaks volumes to his level of commitment.
Coyle Personnel feel extremely fortunate to have such a hardworking team of employees and it’s great to see several of these being nominated for the 2024 Rail Staff Awards. Their dedication and passion for the rail industry does not go unnoticed.
