Job Description

Coyle Education are partnered with local authorities and are currently looking for 1:1 SEN Tutor’s to support students based in Norfolk & Suffolk. You will need to prepare and deliver a tailored tuition package to children and young people who are unable to access a mainstream education setting.

Coyle Education are seeking dedicated SEND Tutors, SEND Teachers, and HLTAs.

The students we work with have a range of Special Educational Needs and require additional support while they are currently not attending school, by providing them with a highly differentiated and engaging curriculum to bridge the gaps in their education.

This opportunity would be fantastic for a new or experienced teacher looking to work closely with students outside the classroom to provide a more personalised, enjoyable learning environment.

A large portion of the students have been out of school for extended periods of time which may have affected their confidence levels. Not only will you be required to bridge gaps in their educations, it’s also your responsibility to re-engage them with their education and provide a good structure not just for learning but also in their daily routine.

Coyle Education will be available and will assist in the monitoring of each student’s progression to ensure they are receiving the best form of education.

Key responsibilities:

When working as a 1:1 SEN Tutor for Coyle Education, you will be working 1:1 with students from early years and up to key stage 4.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering core subjects (English, Maths & Science) or SEN specific content.
  • Acting as a role model to the students and lead by example
  • Planning, Preparing and Delivering tailored lessons whilst being adaptable to ensure the students’ needs are always met.
  • Managing the behaviour of pupils throughout the sessions with positive strategies
  • Keeping on top of student progress by providing a weekly report and termly meetings to assess development
  • Recording daily attendance to ensure parties are aware of the child’s whereabouts
  • Working towards and assisting students transitioning to mainstream or special education settings
  • Advising Consultant of safeguarding concerns as and when appropriate
  • Listening to the child’s voice through our “My Tuition, My Voice” system.

Essential requirements:

Proven SEND experience

QTS is preferred, however strong applicants without QTS and lots of experience are also welcome.

This advert is for a zero-hour contract

Safeguarding requirements:

We require all candidates to posses an Enhanced DBS check that is on the update service. If you do not already have one Coyle Education can process one for you.

You must have right to work.

All candidates must complete a Level 2 safeguarding training and prevent awareness training. We do offer free safeguarding training.

 Hours:

Tuition hours follow the usual school day and would usually take place between 9am – 4:30pm (Monday – Friday). You will have the opportunity to work either full-time or part-time depending on your availability.

Some sessions can be online if preferred.
