🚨 Project Manager – Rolling Stock

We’re looking for a Project Manager to support rolling stock projects across modifications, upgrades, overhauls, and maintenance programmes.

This is a broad, delivery-focused role where you’ll be responsible for keeping projects on track across time, cost, quality, and safety, while working closely with operations, engineering, and commercial teams.

What you’ll be doing:

• Leading delivery of rolling stock projects including modifications, upgrades, overhauls and maintenance programmes
• Managing project plans, budgets, risks, and resources across the full lifecycle
• Working closely with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to keep delivery aligned
• Coordinating materials and ensuring everything is available in line with programme requirements
• Monitoring project performance and reporting progress, risks, and financials
• Leading project reviews, milestone checks, and final handover to the customer
• Acting as the main point of contact for customers and managing relationships throughout delivery
• Supporting bid/proposal stages where needed, including feasibility and cost input
• Driving continuous improvement and identifying opportunities across projects

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience delivering projects in an engineering or rail environment
• Strong understanding of project controls (planning, cost, risk, reporting)
• Experience working across multidisciplinary teams
• Good commercial awareness and experience managing suppliers or contracts
• Strong communication skills — comfortable working with customers and stakeholders
• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of health & safety and safety management systems

Nice to have:

• Experience within rolling stock or rail operations
• Professional project management qualification (APM or similar)
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
